Shane and I are our one success story in a collection of blind dates we both endured at various times in our lives set up from different well meaning friends and parents. So I figured what the heck...what's one more? I had my best friend on phone call "bail out" patrol. We met in front of the 1604 Fire Hut Grill restaurant on August 22nd, 2003 at 7:30 pm. I was 10 minutes late and Shane was on time which has pretty much set the precedent for our relationship. Shane loves to brag on how I had twice as much in my bowl as he did.  If you know how Mongolian Grille restaurants work, then you know it can get ugly real quick...but it's so tasty!!!  Anyhow...I could tell within 10 minutes of the date that it would be at the very least a nice, relaxing date. I mean we both loved Halloween and loved roller coasters...how could it not?

In hindsight, I can say that the date was very real, refreshing and it restored my faith that blind dates didn't always make it into the hall of "what was I thinking?". I knew afterwards that no matter what the future had in store for us, we had both stumbled onto something worth looking into. My best friend never did receive the horror date 911 call and so goes the story...
